GENERAL INFORMATION

Place
Budapest, has a longstanding tradition as a centre of science and culture. The city was created by the unification of Buda and Óbuda on the hilly west bank of the Danube and Pest on the flat east bank in 1873. Today Budapest has 1.8 M inhabitants and on the Buda side the Castle District with the Royal Palace and the Matthias Church, as well as the Gellért Hill with the Citadel are among the holders of the prestigious World Heritage Award. Budapest is a perfect meeting point that will leave treasured and lasting memories.

Venue
The Hilton Budapest is situated in the heart of the historic Castle District, a medieval little town with atmospheric streets, picturesque houses, gas lamps and beautiful monuments, which is one of the most romantic pedestrian sections in Budapest. In keeping with such traditions, the Hilton Budapest has certainly preserved the spirit of the Castle District. A perfect example would be the restored remains of a 13th century Dominican churchyard and cloisters that are now incorporated into the contemporary building. The Hilton Budapest has one of the largest and most versatile conference centres in the city featuring 21 state-of-the-art Conference rooms, including a Ballroom for up to 660 delegates. Transportation
Hilton Budapest takes pride in having the most perfect location in Budapest, which allows  easy access for international delegates. Ferihegy Airport is only 24 km away from the hotel and it is an important destination and transfer point for many international flights from all over the world. Major historical sites are within walking distance and the city centre is just a 10-minute drive away via public transport.

Passport and Visa Requirements
All participants will require a valid passport (or a valid identity card in case of some EU countries) to enter Hungary. Please contact your nearest Hungarian Embassy or Consulate to check the current visa and passport requirements.

Banks

Bank business hours are from Monday to Friday, 09.00-16.30. Banks are closed on Saturday, Sunday and Public Holidays. All banks have similar exchange rates.

Postal services
Hotels often provide basic postal services. Post offices are open daily except Saturday, Sunday and public holidays.

Electricity
General Household electric power is 220 volts.

Insurance
The Organizing Committee can accept no responsibility for accidents or damage to the private property of participants. Please make your own arrangements for health insurance and any other insurance desired.
